Connecting rods are slender, variable-section non-circular rods, and the cross-section of the rod body gradually decreases from the large end to the small end to adapt to the rapidly changing dynamic loads during work.

It consists of three parts: connecting rod head, rod body and connecting rod head. The connecting rod head is separated, half of which is integrated with the rod body, and the other half is composed of connecting rod caps. The connecting rod caps are composed of bolts and nuts and the crankshaft main journal.

The connecting rod connects the piston and the crankshaft, transmits the force of the piston to the crankshaft, and converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotational motion of the crankshaft.

It is one of the main transmission components of Bare Engine. It transmits the pressure of the expanding gas acting on the top of the piston to the crankshaft, converting the reciprocating linear motion of the piston into the rotational motion of the crankshaft, thereby outputting power.

Most connecting rod materials are made of high-strength 45 steel and 40Dr steel, which are quenched and tempered to improve cutting performance and impact resistance. The hardness requirement of 45 steel is HB217, and the application of ductile iron and powder metallurgy technology can reduce the cost of blanks.
