(1) Is the air filter damp or soil attached? Are there any water marks on the air filter housing and the intake pipe wall?
(2) Check the
Bare Engine oil to determine whether the Bare Engine cylinder has water ingress. After water ingress, the oil around the Bare Engine cylinder head and the intake and exhaust valve seats will be milky white, which is the result of the mixture of water and oil.
(3) Whether the
Mitsubishi Engine has water ingress can be confirmed by checking the piston and connecting rod. Water ingress into the Bare Engine cylinder causes the Mitsubishi Engine to break, and the top of the broken connecting rod piston will be very bright (the top of the piston is relatively unbroken).
And the broken connecting rod is bent. In addition, we can also judge by observing the high problem (top dead center) of the piston ring movement on each cylinder sleeve.
It can be found that the top dead center of the cylinder corresponding to the broken connecting rod is significantly lower than that of other cylinders, which can also help us determine that the connecting rod was bent before it broke.
